Amusing Amazon Outdoor Campaign That Puts a Smile on Our Faces with Food
In the realm of advertising, creativity and originality are key to standing out and capturing the audience's attention. Amazon, always at the forefront of innovation, has launched a charming and playful advertising campaign to promote its own brand of groceries, ByAmazon. Developed by the independent creative agency Red Brick Road, the campaign aims to challenge conventional perceptions of the brand's food credentials.
Smiles that Feed: "Food Too, Who Would've Thought?"
The campaign introduces the brand line "Food too, who would've thought?" to surprise shoppers and let them know that Amazon, known as the reliable destination for everything from books to electrical items, is now venturing into the world of own-brand food.
The advertising strategy is based on the use of smile-shaped foods that cleverly mimic Amazon's characteristic smile. This playful tactic conveys the message that Amazon not only meets our daily needs but has also immersed itself in the world of food.
Creative Deployment in London: Beyond the Smile
The campaign's creatives are displayed at the Angel underground station, just a two-minute walk from one of Amazon Fresh's flagship stores. The ingenious design doesn't stop there, spanning advertising platforms between tracks, custom tunnel linings, and acquisitions of escalator panel spaces. Additionally, a two-week-long digital display and outdoor campaign is implemented across London.
Red Brick Road has conceived eight different 'Amazon food smiles' for the campaign, along with a set of contextual ads that promote relevant edible items for specific times of the day. From 'Banana Smiles,' promoting refill stations with yogurt, coffee, and ByAmazon bananas, to 'Prawn Smiles,' showcasing lunch options like shrimp pasta salad, and 'Chilli Smiles,' celebrating ByAmazon's quality dinner range with a delicious Chicken Tikka Masala.
