Summer on Wheels: The BagMobile Hits Miami and Chicago
DoorDash has officially kicked off summer with a four-wheeled out-of-home (OOH) campaign turning heads and making deliveries with a massive, attention-grabbing red delivery bag.
Towering at 15 feet tall, the BagMobile is cruising through Miami and Chicago, stopping in popular neighborhoods to hand out location-specific swag. Think beach towels on Ocean Drive and sunscreen near Wrigley Field — it’s all about delivering delight, hyperlocal style.
Hyperlocal Impact Meets Creative Marketing
“DoorDash helps you get what you need, when and where you need it,” said Julio D'Alfonso, Co-Head of Creative at Superette, DoorDash’s in-house creative studio. “The BagMobile tour brings that idea to life in a bold, fun, and community-first way.”
What began as a teaser — the quirky “Roof Goof” stunt, where cars drove around with oversized red bags on their roofs — soon turned into a citywide buzz. Those who flagged the ‘forgotten’ bag were rewarded with a flyer and a $15 DoorDash gift card, sparking both curiosity and smiles.
Celebrating Dashers with the BagWagon
The campaign doesn't just focus on customers — it honors Dashers too. The BagWagon, another element of this activation, is giving back with completely redesigned delivery bags for couriers who keep the DoorDash engine running.
“DoorDash challenged us to create something loud, local, and lovable,” said Colleen Horne, Associate Creative Director at GUT Los Angeles. “So we supersized their most iconic brand asset — the red delivery bag — and turned it into a rolling experience that delivers joy in every sense.”
When and Where to Catch the BagMobile
The BagMobile will be live in Miami from June 3 to June 17 and in Chicago from June 18 to July 2. More cities are expected to join the tour soon — so keep your eyes open to see if it’s heading to your neighborhood.
