FUSE Create Launches “The Holiday Sweater: Climate Change Collection”

This Holiday Season, FUSE Create Reimagines a Classic Tradition to Highlight Climate Change and Support the David Suzuki Foundation

As the holiday season approaches, FUSE Create, an independent agency, is taking a unique approach to a beloved holiday tradition—reimagining the classic holiday sweater to raise awareness about climate change. Introducing “The Holiday Sweater: Climate Change Collection,” this innovative project aims to shine a light on the devastating impacts of a warming planet while supporting a meaningful cause: the David Suzuki Foundation.

Raising Awareness of Climate Change

With temperatures worldwide continuing to rise due to climate change, the holiday sweater may soon be a relic of the past. In this thought-provoking project, FUSE Create envisions what our holiday ‘sweaters’ could look like in 40 years if urgent action is not taken to address the climate crisis. The collection seeks to highlight the importance of recognizing the global warming challenge while offering a way to make a tangible difference.

FUSE Create is not only raising awareness through the collection but also supporting the David Suzuki Foundation, one of Canada’s largest and most trusted environmental charities. Through this collaboration, the agency hopes to make a direct impact on both the climate conversation and charitable giving.

The Pieces Behind the Collection

In keeping with their sustainable vision, FUSE Create has produced two original pieces for the “Climate Change Collection”: a one-piece swimsuit and a pair of swim trunks. These garments, crafted from repurposed vintage holiday sweaters, deliver a powerful message about the intersection of tradition, sustainability, and the urgent need for change.

By reusing existing materials, FUSE Create reduces the carbon footprint of the project while encouraging consumers to think creatively about sustainable design. Local designer Sarah Mathieson contributed to the creation of these one-of-a-kind pieces, bringing the project’s vision to life with a blend of seasonal tradition and forward-thinking climate-conscious design.

Get Involved and Make a Difference

FUSE Create wants the community to be part of this conversation. To further engage the public, the collection will be displayed in the storefront window of FUSE Create’s office at 45 Ossington Avenue. Passers-by can view the display and easily contribute to the cause by scanning a QR code featured in the window, making donations directly to the David Suzuki Foundation.

Linda Carte, Creative Director at FUSE Create, shared, “Our collection invites people to think about how a holiday tradition might disappear, in a way that’s sustainable and forward-thinking. It’s an unexpected yet impactful way to raise awareness and contribute to the cause, while reminding us that holiday traditions, just like our climate, need our attention and care.”

As the holiday season unfolds, FUSE Create’s “The Holiday Sweater: Climate Change Collection” serves as a poignant reminder of how much work remains to protect our planet—and how we can all play a role in preserving it for future generations.
